1. Agreement and Scope
When you save a payment card with Kerivan-Lane, Inc. ("Kerivan-Lane," "we," "us," or "our") through our secure payment portal, you authorize us to keep that card on file and to charge it as described in these Delivery & Service Terms for heating oil delivered to, and service work performed at, your service address. The authorization statement you check when saving your card incorporates these terms.
2. Card on File
Your card details are sent directly to our payment processor, Authorize.net, which stores them as a secure payment profile. We never see or store your full card number — our records keep only the card type and the last four digits so we can identify the card with you.
3. Payment Holds
Where agreed — for example, to secure a delivery at an agreed price for a new account — we may place a temporary authorization hold on your card for a stated amount. A hold is a pre-authorization, not a charge. Depending on your card issuer, a hold may appear on your statement for several days, including after we release it.
4. Automatic Billing
You authorize us to charge your saved card for heating oil delivered and for service work performed, at the prices agreed with you or our prevailing prices, after each delivery or completed job. We will send a receipt for each charge to the email address on your account.
5. Charges on Non-Payment
If payment is not received as agreed — including if you do not take an agreed delivery by its stated deadline, or a balance remains unpaid after delivery or service — you authorize us to charge your saved card up to the amount shown to you when you authorized the related hold, including after the original authorization has lapsed.
6. Errors and Disputes
If you believe a charge or hold was made in error, contact our office promptly at (781) 444-0279 or service@kerivanlane.com and we will review and correct any billing error. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under your card issuer's dispute procedures.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Delivery & Service Terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be communicated to affected customers. The version in effect when you authorized your card governs that authorization until you accept a newer one.
8. Governing Law
These Delivery & Service Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
